What is the Case Summary Panel?

The case summary panel provides quick access to case information while viewing any of the case screen tabs such as Case Info, Case Assignments, Custom Fields, etc.

The Case Summary Panel is available while viewing details of a case.

  1. You will have access to the the Case Summary Panel while viewing any case tabs. The Case details tab is shown only as an example.
  2. To view the Case Summary Panel, expand it by clicking the down arrow icon to the right side of the tab. On the left side of the tab you will see the case's creation date and case number.

Case Details

  1. The first block on the Case Summary Panel provides the case's details.
  2. From here you have the option to edit the case details by clicking the blue pencil icon. This will take you to the Case Details screen where you will be able to make edits. For more information about editing case details, see the article: How do I view and edit Case Details
  3. The next icon, that looks like a mask, will take you to the Case Defendants screen where you are able to add and edit defendants linked to the case.
  4. The Icon that looks like a group of people, will take you to the Case Clients screen where you can add and edit clients linked to the case.
  5. The icon that looks like a building will take you to the Case Locations screen where you can add and edit locations linked to the case.
  6. The final icon that looks like two yellow arrows facing in opposite directions, will deactivate the case if it is closed or no longer needed.

Primary Client/Defendant

  1. The next block shows details on the primary Case Client. Primary clients/defendants/locations will always be marked with a blue star in the software.
  2. Edits can be made to the client by clicking the blue pencil and paper icon.
  3. If the client is no longer involved with the case, you can delete the client from the case by clicking the red trash can icon.
  4. The block to the right of the client block will show you information on the primary Case Defendant.
  5. Edits can be made to the defendant by clicking the blue pencil and paper icon.
  6. If the defendant is no longer involved with the case, you can delete the defendant from the case by clicking the red trash can icon.

Primary Location

  1. Below the Primary Case Client and Defendant blocks, you will see the Primary Location block. This shows details on the primary location attached to the case.
  2. If you wish to edit the location, click the blue pencil and paper icon.
  3. If the location is no longer needed on the case, it can be deleted from the case by clicking the red trash can icon.
