What is the difference between Service Default Grants and All Grants Served Under in the Client Info screen?

This article will explain the differences in the Service Default Grants and All Grants Served Under fields found in the Client Info screen.

The Service Default Grants, found in the Client Info screen (see image below), is the field that you will use to tell the software what the default grants are to apply to the services provided to that victim/client for that case.  

You can add and remove Service Default Grants as needed for tracking the services provided.  This is a nice tool to use to allow an almost 'set it and forget' approach to applying services.

For instance, if you have a victim/client named Suzy Survivor that you know will always be provided services with funding from the VOCA grant, you can add the VOCA grant to her Service Default Grants.  In doing so, you will be able to apply services for Suzy for that specific case with the VOCA grant always connected to them.

Please note that grants can be removed and added as needed when applying services to a victim/client's case by clicking on the grants field and clicking on the grants within the list.  The Service Default Grant(s) will be selected but they can be removed if needed before selecting the services to apply.

When you want to apply services to Suzy's case you will click on the Notes and Services tab of her set of screens and notice that in the Service Options section (at the top) the VOCA grant will be defaulted as the grant to apply to those services.

The All Grants Served Under field in the Client Info screen cannot be edited by any users.  That field is automatically populated by the software when grants are applied to services in the Notes and Services screen.

As services are applied to this victim/client's case with a grant connected to it the software will automatically log that grant in the All Grants Served Under field.  It will display each grant only one time, regardless of how many services were applied with it.

This will give you a place to view all the grants this victim/client had been provided services under.
